[NOTD] Cosmic Crazy Nails

Short Announcement: Hey everyone! First of all, thank you to all who have taken an interest in my blog! I really appreciate all of you! I will be doing my very first giveaway once I reach 100 followers ^^ More details soon!

Here is my nail of the week~I tried my hand at marbling for the first time. It was pretty difficult at first, but I finally go the hang of it! I was watching Extreme Planets last night on the Discovery Channel and was inspired to make cosmic themed nails. I've always been really interested in learning about the Universe & Planets. I even wanted to be an astronaut when I was younger xD haha

I recently bought OPI Ogre-the-top blue from the Shrek collection, and it was perfect! I LOVE how my right hand, middle finger turned out!

My Right Hand:

Left Hand

What I used: OPI Ogre the-top-blue, Essence black nail polish, Nicole by OPI Imagine If, & star nail decals from forever 21.

[NOTD] Let's Go Party!

I bought this new nail polish from brand, Jesse's Girl, called Confetti. It was love at first sight! Confetti is a really cute & fun string glitter nail polish. I stayed with the same "party" theme with my nails & added a cupcake with a cherry on top & balloons! (I just had to use ELF Mint cream for the base :P)

I also want to dedicate this post to thank http://www.nailbytes1.com/ for linking my blog on the "CrossTown Traffic" section of their website! Thank you for your kind comments about my blog too! A few days ago, I started getting a lot of hits/readers from there. I really appreciate it! :)

[SWATCH] NEW ELF Spring 2010 Nail Polish

I gotta say, when ELF announced that they were coming out with new nail polishes, I was extremely excited! I have a few bottles already, and I thought they were great for the price~$1.00 each! When they released a picture of the new colors, I was even more excited! They had a nude & mint colored nail polish that I couldn't wait to try out.

Earlier this year, I had my very first ELF haul & was not disappointed with the items I bought, especially the Eyeliner Pen & their mechanical eyelash curler . I bought 2 eyeliner pens this time & another eyelash curler for my sister since she loved mine! haha This time around, I bought the HD powder & can't wait to try it out on top of my Skinfood BB Cream. I've read many great reviews on it!

I bought all 5 new colors. Onto the nail polish swatches!

The name of this one is INNOCENT. It's a bit sheer, so I put on 3 coats. This is a nude nail polish color -aka mannequin hands- Application is very easy & not streaky. I love it

Next we have DESERT HAZE. At first glance, Desert Haze & Innocent look very similar. Desert Haze is actually a light brown color. I applied 3 coats.

Here's a comparison of the two:

This one is SMOKY BROWN. When I looked at the bottle, I was expecting a light brown, but was surprised to find a nice, chocolate-brown color! It applied very smoothly. It only took 2 coats to get this nice, vibrant brown.

This is LILAC. It's a nice pastel purple. I applied 3 coats~application was not streaky. One of my favorites! It reminds me of OPI's Do You Lilac It?

THIS is the one I was most excited to try~MINT CREAM. I have a bit of an obsession with Mint nail polish at the moment & can't put down my China Glaze Re-freshmint, so I was itching to try ELF's version of Mint Green nail polish. I applied 3 coats & I LOVE THE COLOR!

Here is a comparison of China Glaze Re-freshmint & ELF Mint Cream. Mint Cream is darker than Re-reshmint. I love both colors!

All in all, I thought these nail polishes applied easily. They were not streaky & they dry fairly quick. I love the little black boxes they came in too! A huge plus---On the box, it states that these nail polishes are Three Free, meaning no Toluene, Formaldehyde, & Dibutyl Phthalate in their formula! Probably the best thing about these nail polishes is the price. Nothing can beat gorgeous, $1.00 nail polish!

[TUTORIAL] Pastel Spring Flowers Nail Art

I made my first video tutorial last night. Didn't know it'd be such a pain in the rear! LOL. The video I recorded was corrupted & wouldn't play, so I had to re-do my nails & re-record the whole thing.

If you have any other questions, please ask ^^

This is the result from the tutorial~

Original design from a few weeks ago~I like how this one turned out haha

First Anniversary

It's my boyfriend & I's first anniversary on Sunday, but we celebrated early~We went to his favorite sushi restaurant and the park today. I had a great time! He was actually ~teaching~ me how to ride a bike. I never learned as a kid, so he's been teaching me & I've been getting better, though my balance still sucks! haha I can't believe I went biking in my favorite sandals! I was thiiiis close to breaking them!

I got the Dragon Box. Everything was delicious! Also got fried ice cream. It was my first time trying fried ice cream~ SO delicious! mm mm!

The scenery is really nice at Mt. Trashmore (yeaah it's actually made of trash/"compacting layers of solid waste and clean soil" Google it! It's pretty interesting. lol) It's a really nice park~

Unfortunately got black spots on my short from the table after this -_- boo!

My love

[SWATCH] Color Club Pardon My French Collection

Finally got around to swatching the Color Club Pardon My French Collection that I got from Ross! This was my first time trying out Color Club polishes. Most of the nail polishes in this collection were way too sheer for my liking, so I had to put on 4-5 coats.

This one is Pardon My French. It is very sheer. After using 4 coats, it turned out to be a baby/pastel pink.

These are the glitter polishes from the same collection on top of Pardon My French. From left to right: Hot Couture, Turn the Other Chic, & Si Vous Please. Pinky finger is just Pardon My French.

This one is I Believe In Amour. Again, this one is very sheer. I used 4 coats. It's a darker shade of pink compared to Pardon My French.

This one is called Oh Naturale. Very sheer! It took me 5 coats to get this color. It reminded me of China Glaze's Peachy Keen(i think Peachy Keen is much better ._. ), but much lighter.

Take Me to Your Chateau! I LOVE this color. Unlike the other nail polishes in this collection, it is not sheer! Yay! It only took me 2 topcoats to get this gorgeous, pastel blue. Definitely my favorite from this collection.

All in all, not bad for $7.99 for all 7 nail polishes! I love the glitter polishes & Take Me to Your Chateau! I'd definitely try Color Club nail polishes again!

~~~~~~
Just had another ELF haul a few days ago. I ordered their new Spring nail polishes: Mint Cream, Lilac, Desert Haze, Smoky Brown, & Innocent. I'm excited to try Mint Cream! I LOVE China Glaze's Re-freshmint so much, that I'm determined to get my hands on all Mint Green nail polishes out there! haha. Anyway, will do swatches when they come in!
[OOTD] Hm more like Outfit of the Weekend!
Since i've been too lazy to do my nails lately, i'm going to post my very first outfit of the day (OOTD). It's been a busy weekend! Friday, my friends and I volunteered to be maids at the 1st year of Chibi*Con. It was so much fun & very exhausting! I've only been to one con before this, so I never imagined how crazy/hectic the behind the scenes stuff was. We took orders, sold food, prepared food, served food, and basically helped out around the place. My friend Jeannica (aka CoCo Chanel!) made all of our maid costumes from scratch! She did an awesome job :) Jini also planned/ran this whole thing & did amazing. The event was a hit! Can't wait for next year's!
On to the pictures! Courtesy of the awesome photographer Mary Baja !
(L-R): Me, Rhea, & Jeannica. Missing one maid-Aleece.
Some of the butlers & maids.
With voice actor Troy Baker! He was really outgoing & awesome!! He's a really cool guy.
And this was us by the end of it. hahaha xD
On Saturday my bff Heidi and I attended our friend's baby shower~After that, my whole family threw a Welcome Home party for my Uncle. I'm so happy he's doing much better & is able to go home! I love family get-to-gethers. I love my family!
Outfit!
